Frequently Asked Questions

List of 3 frequently asked questions.

  • What amount should I give?

The amount of your gift is your decision.  All gifts are important, and are sincerely appreciated. Westminster is a 501(c)3 organization so your contribution is tax-deductible.
  • Why should I make a gift to the Warrior Fund?

Tuition and fees fund much of the operations of Westminster. However, beyond operations there is the Westminster Experience that makes a Westminster education unique and distinguishes our students and alumni. Warrior Week, WorldWonder, Community Service, Homecoming, Chapel, the caring and knowledgeable faculty, and the beautiful campus just to name a few help to create the level of excellence that each of us desires for our children. Parents, grandparents, and alumni give to provide that level of excellence for our children and because we share values.
    • We value excellence, so we give to provide a rich, well-rounded educational experience for our children that includes the arts, athletics, science, technology, math, literature, and that are at the forefront of best practices and resources in education.
    • We value Christian education, so we give to sustain an education that glorifies God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
    • We value family and we know that in partnership with a caring, loving family, education is the greatest influence on a person’s life, so we give to sustain that link between family and Westminster.
    • We value inclusion, so we give to keep tuition affordable.
    • We value diversity, so we give to support scholarships and financial aid.
    • We are optimistic about the future, so we give to perpetuate Christian education for our children, their children and all the Westminster students for many, many years to come. Our children will one day be Westminster alumni, and our alumni are special. Follow them, see their accomplishments and you will acknowledge that they bring to their communities the knowledge and values they gained at Westminster Christian School. Through their successes, they are the voices that glorify God as they live the values proclaimed at our school.
  • How will my gift be acknowledged?

Every gift will be acknowledged with an email thank you that you can use to document your charitable giving for income tax purposes. In addition, your generosity will be celebrated throughout the school by recognizing the participation of every Westminster family. Each child’s name will be displayed in appreciation for his or her family’s participation, and each class will enjoy a celebratory event to encourage participation. Every family that contributes $1,000 or more will be invited to a reception hosted by the Head of School and the Board of Directors to show their gratitude.

  • Bequest

A Bequest contained in a will is one of the simplest and most flexible forms of gift planning. No document expresses a person’s appreciation of life more deliberately than their Will. Its language may be legal, its substance may be worldly goods, but it reflects the beliefs one would like to perpetuate. There are several types of bequests which should be considered by you and your estate planning advisor.
  • Gifts of Cash

Gifts of Cash, either outright or pledged, are the easiest gifts to make and entitle you to an income tax charitable deduction.
  • Gifts of Life Insurance

Gifts of Life Insurance can play a very creative role in gift planning by enabling a donor to make a much larger charitable gift than thought possible.
  • Gifts of Securities and Stocks

Gift of Securities enables you to make a substantial gift with a low original cost. When donating appreciated securities, you avoid capital gains tax and receive an income tax deduction equal to the full value of the gift.
  • Life Income Gifts

Life Income Gifts allow you to make a present gift to Westminster Christian School in return for lifetime income payments. These should be explored by you with your financial plan advisor.
